An appreciative and supportive corporate culture is an important pillar of our human resources work at erzet. We are therefore delighted that our employees have confirmed the effectiveness of our commitment in a scientifically supported satisfaction survey and that erzet has been recognized for the results.

Erzet Handelsgesellschaft mbH is one of Germany's best employers. The company was recognized by the Center for Employer Attractiveness (zeag GmbH) based on a scientifically sound employee and management survey. Every year, zeag GmbH selects the most attractive employers among German small and medium-sized enterprises. The "Top Job" seal for 2023 will be awarded by former Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel as patron. "Being an employer of choice is an important strategic decision if companies want to be successful in the long term," emphasizes Gabriel as patron of the project. Among other things, the steel trader impressed with particularly good employee feedback in the areas of motivation and dynamism.

"We implemented a number of measures to improve our attractiveness as an employer and show our appreciation for our employees, but we weren't really sure whether we would be rewarded with the 'Top Job' seal," reports Erzet Managing Director Dennis Uebelgünne. "That's why we are very pleased that our commitment was recognized so quickly by our workforce."

Employee feedback is also useful in times of crisis

Conducting employee surveys even in difficult times is a priority for the "Top Job" team. "Our studies show that even—and especially—in times of crisis, good employers should know what the working atmosphere is like in their company," reports Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch, head of the Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management at the University of St. Gallen. "This is because qualified feedback from employees is the basis for a strong, crisis-resilient corporate culture."

The award-winning companies are now entitled to bear the "Top Job" seal for the next two years. 63 percent of these employers are family businesses. Of the award-winning companies, 28 percent are national market leaders and 4 percent are international market leaders. On average, the companies employ 250 people and the proportion of women in management positions averages 22 percent. All award-winning employers can be found at www.topjob.de.

The "Top Job" employer program

With "Top Job," medium-sized companies work on their qualities as employers. The seal makes their attractiveness to applicants visible. The award is based on a comprehensive employee and management survey. It is organized by zeag GmbH, Center for Employer Attractiveness, based in Constance on Lake Constance. The scientific management of the benchmarking is in the hands of Prof. Dr. Heike Bruch and her team from the Institute for Leadership and Human Resource Management at the University of St. Gallen. Sigmar Gabriel is the patron of the project.

Under the umbrella of the Center for Employer Attractiveness, zeag GmbH combines the two benchmark projects "Top Job" and "Ethics in Business" thematically. zeag thus supports medium-sized companies that already excel in the areas of human resources management and corporate social responsibility or wish to do so in the medium term.
